Find a Book
Looking for something to read?
There are lots of ways to find a good book. You can get suggestions from other teens by checking out our teen book reviews, or find out what library staff are reading and recommending in the YA Book Blog. We also have lists/bibliographies of recommended titles you can browse.
The library has books in many different formats - regular print, large print, audiobooks (the ones you can listen to) on CD, e-audiobooks (ones you can download and listen to on your computer or MP3 player), e-books (ones you can download and read on your computer or e-reader), and Playaways (these are devices like MP3 players that each have an audiobook recorded on them - you just need a AAA battery and your own headphones in order to listen to them).
Need more suggestions?
Try Novelist! You can use Novelist to search for read-alikes, reviews, and books in your lexile level. To use Novelist from outside of the library, click here, and enter your library card number (barcode).
Need to know what comes next in a series?
Try the Kent District Library's What Comes Next Database (KDL) to find out what books are in a series, and what order they're in.
Need to find out what books are coming out in the future?
YALit and TeensReadToo (maintained by Young Adult librarians) both have lists of upcoming releases.
